"My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights while exploring Banos. The room was very nice and clean and the staff were super nice and helpful. They do not speak much English but it wasn't a problem. We loved the pool table on the top floor. This hostel is just across the street from the bus stat ion which was super convenient. This is not a party hostel and we enjoyed quiet night times to be able to relax after long days of enjoying the town. There were two downsides though. The wifi was super spotty. Sometimes it was great, sometimes it didn't work at all. We don't travel to do things on the internet so it wasn't a huge deal but when trying to plan the next part of our journey, it was a little annoying. There is also a huge construction project going on next door that starts around 6am. We were woken up every morning to very loud noises. This is not D'Matias' fault in any way and once it is done it is not a problem but it did affect our sleep. Overall, a great hostel! I h... More >
La Casa Verde- Eco Guest House
"This place was nothing short of amazing! We were looking for the perfect end to our stay in Baños, and La Casa Verde sure delivered! Will and Rachel were the most accommodating hosts, full of suggestions, incredibly helpful and great people to just hang around and talk to. They'll even share a cab i nto town with you! The views from our balcony were stunning and you could find a relaxing hammock to take it all in around every corner. Highlights were breakfast (one of the best in Ecuador), the in house massage (incredible), the beautiful rooms, and the overall serene ambiance. It's almost like you stumbled upon your own personal yoga retreat! Oh! And the handmade soap is wonderful! The only thing to note is it's a bit outside of town. We never had a problem catching a cab on the nearby main road (only $1 to get to town) but the walk would be about 20-30 minutes. It was never an issue for us and everything else completely make up for this - we will definitely be back! More >
Samari Spa Resort
"If you're a foodie, the breakfast is great, loads of traditional options and they care about how the food is presented, opens your appetite :). Service (at the table) is not that fast but that's OK, we're not in a rush. Rooms are incredible, we got a huge one, plenty of space to enjoy being inside, Jacuzzi was nice, with views on both sides. Loved every bit of our stay, wished we had stayed more there. Recommend to anyone who wants to spend more time in the bedroom. More >
