Day 1 Quito A G Adventures representative will greet you at the hotel and brief everyone on the various aspects of the tour. Additional Notes: If you are not able to attend the welcome meeting, a representative will leave all important information at the hotel’s reception indicating what time to be ready on Day 2 of the trip. If there is any confusion on arrival, please do not hesitate to call the contact number listed in this dossier. Included Activities: Arrival Day and Welcome Meeting Transport: Private Vehicle Day 2 Quito/Isla Lobos (1B, 1L, 1D) Upon arrival in San Cristóbal, meet the naturalist guide, who will assist with the transfer to the Queen of Galápagos. After an orientation and lunch, sail to Isla Lobos home to a large sea lion colony and abundant marine life. Additional Notes: Flights from Quito to San Cristobal depart between 8:10am and 10:10am depending on the day of the week. These will arrive into the Galápagos between 10:40am and 12:40pm with a refuelling stop in Guayaquil (you will not disembark the plane). You will generally arrive onto the boat in time for lunch before the afternoon activity. The National Park charges a visitor fee of USD100, payable on arrival, which funds park maintenance and supervision in the Galápagos, as well as ecological study, conservation and infrastructure development in Ecuador's other National Parks. Entry fees and the funds they generate for the National Park System are among measures taken by the Ecuadorian government to protect its natural heritage. Included Activities: Isla Lobos Snorkelling Trip Transport: Early morning transfer to the airport to catch our flight to the Galapagos Private Vehicle Plane Private Vehicle Queen of Galapagos Queen of Galapagos Day 3 South Plaza/North Seymour (1B, 1L, 1D) Morning landing at South Plaza, home to the largest population of land iguanas, for wildlife spotting opportunities and a walk through the cactus forest. In the afternoon, visit North Seymour for guided walks to observe birds and wildlife, including vast sea lion colonies. Included Activities: South Plaza Island Visit Seymour Island Visit Transport: Queen of Galapagos (1.50-2.50 hours) Passage from North Seymour to Chinese Hat Queen of Galapagos Day 4 Chinese Hat/Bachas Beach (1B, 1L, 1D) In the morning, the boat arrives to a small little island off the southern tip of Santiago called Chinese Hat, named for its unique shape. Visit Bachas Beach in the afternoon, located on the northeastern tip of Santa Cruz Island. Included Activities: Chinese Hat Visit Bachas Beach Landing Transport: Passage from Chinese Hat to Bachas Beach Queen of Galapagos (2.50-3.50 hours) Passage from Bachas Beach to Puerto Ayora Queen of Galapagos Day 5 Puerto Ayora (1B, 1L, 1D) Spend the day on Santa Cruz Island. In the morning, visit the Charles Darwin Research Center and spend some time wandering through town. In the afternoon, there may be the opportunity to visit the highlands and see giant land tortoises in the wild. Included Activities: Charles Darwin Research Station Visit Highlands Giant Tortoises Visit Transport: Queen of Galapagos Day 6 Floreana Island (1B, 1L, 1D) In the morning, head towards Punta Cormorant on the northern part of Floreana. This is a perfect spot to go snorkelling from the boat as the waters are home to a multitude of colourful fish and sea lions. Please make sure you are a comfortable swimmer. Despite the protection from the open sea provided by the "crown, " the water here can be rough and the currents strong. In the afternoon, visit Post Office Bay, which has an older and less mysterious history. A short hike up past the post barrel takes you to an interesting lava cave. Included Activities: Punta Cormorant Visit Post Office Bay Visit Lava Cave Excursion Corona del Diablo Snorkelling Transport: Queen of Galapagos Day 7 Punta Suárez/Bahía Gardner (1B, 1L, 1D) Head to Punta Suarez on Española Island. The southernmost island in the Galápagos archipelago is home to several wildlife species, including masked and blue-footed boobies. A hike to the top of the cliff makes for spectacular photo opportunities. Punta Suarez on the western side of Española Island (also called Hood) is spectacular. Follow the trail through a rookery and learn the geological history of the island from the naturalist, including its dramatic volcanic features, climate, flora, and fauna. Sail in the afternoon to Garner Bay, an excellent swimming and snorkelling site. Included Activities: Punta Suarez Excursion Gardner Bay Visit Transport: Queen of Galapagos (1.00-1.50 hours) Queen of Galapagos Day 8 Cerro Brujo/Kicker Rock (1B, 1L, 1D) Morning landing at Cerro Brujo on San Cristóbal to observe sea lions, marine iguanas, and seabirds along the beach. Continue to the dramatic Kicker Rock in the afternoon to witness the steep vertical stone walls rising from the ocean. Included Activities: Cerro Brujo Visit Kicker Rock Snorkelling Trip Transport: Passage from Kicker Rock to Puerto Baquerizo Moreno Queen of Galapagos Day 9 Puerto Baquerizo Moreno/Quito (1B) Reach San Cristóbal in the morning. Disembark after breakfast then visit the Interpretation Centre. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Quito. Transfer to the group hotel upon arrival, and enjoy one last night on the town.
